EO PLACE GUIDE
Read SS SPOT maps and coordinates
Use X/Y, the correct map floor, and zoom controls to locate the viewpoint in an example.
Updated: September 6, 2026
Always pair coordinates with the area
X/Y alone does not identify a location: the same numbers can occur in another area. Check the area or duty name first, and the floor when multiple maps exist.
Zoom in to inspect the surroundings
Use a mouse wheel or pinch gesture to zoom, drag to pan, or use the plus/minus and reset controls. Compare nearby paths, water, and structures with the photo instead of looking only at the pin.
Copying coordinates helps you navigate
Copy the displayed area and X/Y as a reference. This does not teleport your character. Check access and the route yourself; a nearby point on a map may still be separated by terrain or a different floor.
When the scene does not match
Check the area and floor, then the coordinates, then character position and camera direction. X/Y alone does not specify height or camera angle. Read descriptions and captions for additional viewpoint clues.
Place a submission pin at the photographer's position
When creating a spot, selecting an area displays its map. Click or tap to fill the coordinates. Mark where the photographer stood rather than the distant subject. Explain any important viewpoint or platform details in the description.
