EO PLACE GUIDE
Find your next location through screenshots
Use photos, features, and areas to choose a location, save it, and plan your visit.
Updated: September 6, 2026
1. Decide what kind of photo you want
Choose a purpose: scenery, a character portrait, or a group photo. Phrases such as 'bright waterside', 'architecture backdrop', or 'night atmosphere' give you a useful basis for comparing examples.
2. Browse photos and features
Browse the SS SPOT images and open the mood/purpose filters to narrow by features. Start with a small number of conditions. If too few results remain, relax the filters and compare again.
3. Narrow down to an area you can visit
Choose expansion → map type → area/duty. A field or city may require different preparation from a dungeon, trial, or raid, so check your own access. Photos and area names may reveal later-game locations.
4. Compare the examples and location details
Compare multiple photos in the carousel and read the description, area, coordinates, and map. Examples may use different camera positions or times. Suggested Eorzea Time or weather can help, but does not guarantee the same appearance.
5. Save and compare related spots
Log in and save a location to revisit it from My page. Same-area suggestions help you explore that area; similar-feature suggestions let you compare other areas. These links do not automatically calculate a route or travel time.
6. Adjust the composition on location
Use the coordinates to reach the vicinity, then compare the background and adjust camera direction and position. Respect others taking photos. Add your own example to the existing spot afterward; see the Posting Guide for when to create a new spot instead.
